Ford recalled 227,000 vehicles in the U.S. for multiple defects, as announced by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration on Thursday. This includes 6,909 Econoline vans with inoperative defrosting and defogging systems, for which Ford will replace faulty parts free of charge. Additionally, 163,256 Bronco SUVs face risks from loose bolts in front seat frames. Another 56,841 Lincoln and Explorer vehicles have windshields with visible air bubbles.
On Wednesday, Ford expanded recalls to 175,000 Ford Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs plus F-Series pickup trucks due to moonroof wind deflectors that may detach. The deflectors, intended to reduce noise with the sunroof open, can cause increased wind noise or rattles if faulty. Ford documented two cases where drivers were struck by detached parts.
