FOOTAGE: Chilling new details on disappearance of Nancy Guthrie

In this DML Report…
Nancy Guthrie, an 84-year-old woman, was last seen at her $1 million home in Tucson, Arizona, around 9:45 p.m. on January 31, 2026.

Her daughter Annie Guthrie, 56, had spent the evening with her having dinner and playing mahjong before dropping her off at approximately 9:30 p.m. Nancy, who lives alone, is described as frail with poor mobility and requires daily medication. She was reported missing by family members around noon on February 1 after failing to appear for church services. Her pacemaker stopped syncing with her Apple Watch in the early hours of February 1. Nancy's other daughter, Savannah Guthrie, a Today Show host with an $8 million salary and estimated $40 million net worth, is staying four miles away at Annie's $650,000 three-bedroom home. The family has no reason to believe Nancy was targeted due to Savannah's prominence, but has not ruled it out.

The abduction occurred late on January 31 or early February 1, with signs of forced entry at Nancy's rural property. Forensic teams found blood inside the home and puddled on the walkway near the doorstep. The Ring doorbell camera was missing, though it is unclear if it was removed prior to the incident, and a nitrile glove was discovered at the scene. No strange vehicles or tire tracks were observed.

On February 3, a ransom note was sent to TMZ demanding millions in Bitcoin to a verified cryptocurrency address, including a deadline with the phrase "or else" and details not publicly known, such as damage to the home and Nancy's clothing. A separate ransom note was received by Tucson TV station KOLD, though it is unclear if it was identical. The property was not cordoned off with police tape, and neighbors left a sign expressing support for Nancy and her family. Media vehicles surrounded the home on February 3, and lights were observed inside on the night of February 2. A bundled blue t-shirt was seen near the front door, but its relevance is unclear.

Pima County Sheriff's Office held a press conference in Tucson on the afternoon of February 3, where Sheriff Chris Nanos acknowledged the ransom note but declined to verify its contents or confirm any demands, stating investigators are following all leads and coordinating with the FBI. Nanos emphasized that all tips are taken seriously and directed to detectives. FBI agent Jon Edwards urged the public to provide tips, noting ongoing efforts including downloading cellphone tower data, conducting interviews, and analyzing the area. Officials have no information on Nancy's clothing at the time of the abduction, the abductors' vehicle, or her current whereabouts, and no suspects have been identified.
