Christine Vettori, 45, the daughter of Linda Stevenson, issued a statement on Facebook following the arrest of William “Bill” Stevenson, 77, on murder charges in connection with Linda's death. Linda Stevenson, 64, was found unresponsive in the couple's Delaware home on December 28, 2025, after a domestic violence call to police. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Stevenson, the ex-husband of Jill Biden, was arrested on February 1, 2026, and is being held on $500,000 bail.
In her Facebook post, Vettori stated, “He killed my mother and justice will be served,” and added, “He’s going to need all the prayers he can get from prison.” The comments were in response to a friend's remark about the sadness of the case and Stevenson's presumption of innocence. Vettori also expressed her grief, writing, “The pain of losing her is paralyzing and the emptiness in my heart is an abyss. Most days I can barely breathe,” emphasizing the close bond she shared with her mother.

Stevenson was married to Jill Biden from 1970 to 1975. Jill Biden was seen entering a spin class in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, on February 5, 2026, but has not commented on the arrest, and no statements have been issued by her spokesperson or by former President Joe Biden. Stevenson has previously claimed that Jill Biden had an affair with Joe Biden in 1972 after introducing them during Joe's Senate campaign. The Bidens maintain they met on a blind date in 1975, following the death of Joe's first wife and daughter, and after Jill's divorce from Stevenson was finalized.
